Daphne recently had surgery to remove a bleeding tumor by her ear (Dec. 27th). Two weeks later she developed diarrhea. This past Monday I took her to the vet, he prescribed meds. It’s been 3 days and she hasn’t had a bowel movement. I’m also concerned that as of yesterday, her rear right leg is starting to give out. She will take a few steps and then stumble. I have called a holistic vet in my area to setup an appointment for acupuncture and see what else we can do to improve her quality of life since she is a senior dog. The vet I currently see doesn’t seem too fazed by her issues – his answer to my concerns is, “Well, she’s 16.”
Physical issues (disease state, medications etc.)
She has lost most of her sight and is starting to show signs of cognitive decline. As per the vet, I use rewetting drops for her eyes. She no longer wants to go for walks. When I take her out, she just stands there. Six months ago, she started having mild seizures while she was sleeping. The doctor prescribed phenobarbital for the seizures and she’s currently on Metronidazole for 7 more days. She’s also on Dasequin and has been for a long time. Other than signs of old age, she has a strong heart and no other health issues. She has a hearty appetite and the vet is amazed at healthy she is for a dog her age.

Wanted to give you an update on Daphne. On the night you sent her Reiki, she slept for 9 hours straight which she hasn’t done in several years. Wow! She finally had a bowel movement 24hrs later. I was never this happy to see dog poop. LOL! She’s also walking much better and not collapsing (her right leg was giving out a few days prior to your Reiki session.)

Yesterday, she had a consultation with a Holistic Vet, who was shocked to learn that she will be turning 17 in April. She’s now on Chinese herbs and he will be slowly weaning her off phenobarbital while putting her on another anti-seizure medication with fewer side-effects.

Thank you again for sending her healing angels. She got her spunk back and is doing much better!

She has been asleep next to me for the past hour, simply snoring away. Our Siamese cat Joey joined in as well. I’m so happy to hear that she’s not in any pain. I have been carrying her from room to room and at times even lying down next to her when she is in her bed.
