Questions that Mom had for Sophie:
That would be wonderful if you could ask a few questions for me. A holistic vet comes to my home to help me give Sophie subcutaneous fluids twice/week. I would like Sophie to have fluids more frequently, but I have stopped taking her to the clinic because I know she hates going there. Am I making the right decision to keep her home, thus letting her feel worse by not having fluids as often?
I worry that noise from my neighbors is hurting Sophie. I have a few really LOUD neighbors who don’t think they have to show me any common courtesy. Plus constant construction noise in the area. I worry that if Sophie is feeling really lousy that the loud noises hurts her and I can’t always protect her from it. I like to keep doors and windows open for the cool, fresh air, and often Sophie likes to be outside.
I’m also concerned that Sophie is bothered by my rabbit. Sophie has not gone into my bedroom for months now. I’m not sure if maybe there’s an overpowering smell from my rabbit? My rabbit won’t let me pick her up so I have to wait for someone to come to help me groom her bottom. I wonder if there’s a poop or urine smell is bothering Sophie.
Sophie said Sophie wants peace and calm. Sophie appreciates Mom’s efforts to always try to keep Sophie safe and happy. Sophie tries to ignore the constant outside noise because inside is a cocoon of peace and calm for Sophie. Sophie’s surroundings are always relaxing for Sophie. Sophie must trust Mom when the medicine needs to come into Sophie. (she does not indicate whether she needs more but is happy she is receiving it at home) Sophie knows Mom always takes good care of Sophie. (In regards to the rabbit- ) At night Sophie wants to sleep, relax, be peaceful. This is not always possible with Mom in Mom’s room. Sophie is grateful for the guardian angel that Mom has brought home for Sophie. All this love and kindness feels wonderful.
From Sophie’s Mom:
Sophie’s energy level is much better. Her improvement was gradual over about a week. She has finally moved back into my bedroom! She is awake more throughout the day and a few times a day she goes outside for a short while to munch on grass. Her limp is still present but she started jumping down from furniture again which must mean that her injury is causing her less pain.
Thank you!
