Feral cats are one of nature’s great teachers. I love what they do teach us, and Ghost has reminded us for what love is to him, is to be respected, see below:
I would like to know how Ghost feels (on a deep level) about the chances of being captured and taken to a vet.
I would also like to suggest that Ghost come to the front porch for food and water. He may feel exposed there, but it’s away from the other cat, and it provides shelter from the sun and rain. I can visit with him there better, too. There’s a female kitty that comes to the front porch also, but except for a little growling she has accepted his presence int he past.
When we connected with Ghost: he shared:
Ghost said Ghost will not go to any Vet doctor, if Ghost is loved, Ghost is respected. Ghost is not attached to the body Ghost’s soul is occupying. Ghost wants to be recognized for being Ghost not “your” house kitty cat. Ghost comes out of choice to visit, eat and drink. Ghost was happy with the independent relationship Ghost shared with you. Abandon all thoughts of capture. Let life have its natural flow. Ghost will try and use the front porch because Ghost sees the path for change is needed. The obstacle will be changing the pattern Ghost has become familiar and safe with. Ghost does appreciate your kindness always.
This is one of the big reasons Reiki Fur Babies is here, to teach that the bond is soul to soul and that we really are in tune with the animals we just have to look within! We received this email after Ghost’s session:
I think I knew this on a deeper level, which is probably why I was so reluctant to capture Ghost even though we have already taken in two other feral kitties in the same amount of time that Ghost has been with us. He is what he is, and that is what I love about him.
I hope he understands that, out if this love, I will respect his soul and let him stay free, but I will always be here for him.
Thank you so much for this session. In a way it has helped me realize that I’m more in tune with Ghost than I realized.
Love and light to you both,

Thank you for sharing this story; I recently rescued a feral mom and her kittens from a construction site and have wondered if she thought I was punishing her but I wasn’t I was moving her family out of harm’s way.

On the contrary she is most likely grateful ! Thanks for the comment Deborah !
