Reiki For Ilona the Dog in Her Finland Forever Home

Fur Baby: Ilona (Ioana at the shelter)
Age/breed: mix breed, age about 5
How long have you had pet?: 2 days 🙂
Problems/Issues: Ilona has lived her whole life at a shelter so she doesn”t know any other life yet. Currently she is very shy and scared. She is still very unsure of us, although she has became much happier when she is on Tyyne”s old dogbed and we are about 2 meters away 🙂 She is yet too scared to walk out of our apartment herself, so I carry her trough the stairs and out so she can get to know it little by little. She is scared in the outside first, but slowly takes a little bit interest in the outside word – until she is too scared again. Our cat Kassu would go to meet her instantly but she is also scared of him. Has never ever seen a cat before.

So I”d like to get her two welcome home reiki sessions with good dose of Reiki to her fears and ability to trust: to us, to Kassu, to leash walking & outsides and everything actually she is unsure at the moment.

First session in connecting with Ilona:

Illona’s muscles seemed to tense on our arrival so we brought in all the Archangels to help Ilona feel loved and safe. Ilona begins to relax as each angel surrounds Ilona with their color and many healing benefits. This process brightens the energy around Ilona and disarms the walls of fear Ilona has up. Ilona says a feeling of relaxation is washing over Ilona and this needed. Ilona wants to build more self confidence so Kassu won’t be so scary. Ilona is grateful to be here but everything is new and a mystery to Ilona. Ilona will learn what , where , why, how and life will have the ease for Ilona that others enjoy.

After the session: I noticed she was quite active at first and sat up and looked at me. Quite often she also teethed her hind legs quite alot in the first part of the session, and licked her front legs and tummy. The last 10 minutes though, and still now, she was totally blissed out 🙂 I attached a picture of her that I took then. So cute <3 Kassu was on my lap around the healing. He looked quite blissed also during the last 10 minutes 😀

A few days later we received this email:

We can have Kassu in the same room. She doesn’t run away anymore. Just barks loudly once, if Kassu comes too close. So he has also learned to keep a little bit distance 🙂 She is scared outside still, when going a bit further from her comfort zone (which is next to the house). Although we have been able to do two very small round walks around the parking lot and today few meters along the sidewalk of the street. So proud of her there, because the sidewalk seems to be a big issue 🙂 She is scared of other dogs that she sees on leashes, but that’s understandable because she hasn’t seen them like that, and she herself is on the leash which doesn’t give her as much freedom to go somewhere safe, compared to when she might be free. And I’m sure that makes it scary for her.

So its going slowly but definitely steadily to better future 🙂 I think in the next session it might be good to help her with the outside world and leash walking. To help her understand it. I’m sure there will be many interesting smells and places to explore, when she has the confidence to walk a bit further from the house. And in addition to this one, just to give her another helpful reiki douse for the now slowly building confidence 🙂

Second Reiki Session with Ilona:

Ilona says Ilona pauses and tries to resist allowing the fear to stop Ilona from taking a step. Ilona can see and feel the guardian angel that is always surrounding Ilona and this helps Ilona think through what is happening all around. Ilona does see Kassu every day and is seeing what an effort everyone is making to help Ilona not feel pressure to hurry up and be but to see Ilona’s way to safety and trust . Ilona does give weight to every action and Ilona keeps alert also. Ilona is finding a relaxing peace from within coming more. Everyone’s kindness means so much Ilona and it is what will see Ilona through with the confidence needed.

From Mom: Thank you for the session again. She was much calmer trough the whole session this time (compared to the first session). I was sitting next to her on the sofa and Kassu was actually lying on my lap. So we were all there 🙂

About Kassu and Ilona – they have actually smelled each other twice this evening and the second time their noses almost touched! And she shows small glimpses of the extremely happy dog she is inside. Latest one this evening after your session. I got her wintercoat from mail today and tried it on her. She was very curious about the package and the coat and as you can see in the picture, VERY happy when It was on her 😀
