It was wonderful to connect with Joey again. Mom told us :
She is now more calm driving in the trunk part of my car so I’m very relieved and happy about that. She didn’t really feel secure in the back seat of the new car. The thing that I worry about with her is that she has become more vocal when she sees a dog in the distance (I’m not sure of the impact her alpha sister at my parents has on her), and worse is really how she reacts to anything moving past her fast (like a runner or a person on a bicycle). It was very obvious from the start with her that there’s something about motorcycles, but at first it was just motorcycles. It then progressed to buses as well. It’s so stressful for me because if she wasn’t leashed then she’d probably be killed…with the way she lunges for them and would take me down with her if I don’t react quickly and use all my strength to keep her back. I love being with her and spending time outdoors together! She makes me smile just by being so cute. It’s the tension though and having to be on guard so that she doesn’t get hurt. She has come very close to jumping at cars as they turn corners while we wait. Its a level of aggression that I don’t understand from one of the sweetest dogs I’ve had.
Joey feels that Joey does many things really well. Joey does run after some things because Joey wants to make sure they stay far away from Mom for PROTECTION . Joey does a job well . Mom just seems to get mad and holds Joey back from trying to show Mom how much Joey can protect Mom. Joey doesn’t really understand all Joey’s reactions to people or moving objects but they are moving at Mom- protection.

Liza Hernandez Aww, she sounds like Sam. All about protecting family!
Shoshana Weissman Aww my love ♥ Joey. Thank you for her session. I had no idea that her dangerous lunging was out of protection and love for me. Like mother like puppy! I hope to keep her safe and let her know that we will be ok as we enjoy the world 🙂
