In 2009 we heard about a feral cat named Petey. We were actually shocked at the time that someone wanted to pay for a Reiki session for a feral cat. But Petey taught us that cats may be feral but that doesn’t mean they don’t matter. I wrote in my blog back then:

The Reiki helped to keep his injury from getting infected he said.  He said “I’m in Reiki heaven, man!” That was so hilarious. BUT, the one touching thing that will stick with me forever and gives me even goose bumps as I’m typing is that he felt he was important, he knows he’s special. He even felt he wasn’t as “wild” because someone cared.  He was very thankful. Someone cared enough to get this feral cat a Reiki session.

I’m sure over the years Mom took such good care of Petey. Every now we would hear about Petey. Petey talked about all his adventures as many ferals have that we have connected to over the years. In fact, Mom had an indoor cat named Onyx that was quite annoyed that Petey received healing first. She made us laugh. Here’s her post.  Well, we have certainly learned over the years that all creatures matter, great and small which is why we keep doing this. We all have a place on this planet and Universe. Who teaches better than the animals ?

Then we received an email about Petey: It looks like Petey is not doing very well.  He is getting very thin and frail (picture is attached) and I’m afraid he is not going to be around much longer.  He hasn’t been eating very much (I think his teeth are bad) so I gave him some milk last night and this morning and he drank it up!  I was hoping to give him at least a little nutrition.  My boyfriend thinks I should catch him and take him to the vet to be put down, but I think that would be terrifying for him (he is a feral 100%!).

I was looking forward to connecting with Petey again, this time, with our Reiki and archangel healing to send to Petey. What Petey said made me cry.

Petey said Petey is not afraid of you because Petey knows where you are from and what you bring for Petey. You are Petey’s gift from mom. Mom is always doing wonderful and kind things for Petey. Now Mom has sent an angel to be with Petey. What Petey thinks is the most kind act from Mom is Mom’s respect of Petey. Mom has always allowed Petey to be who Pete is and Mom is the greatest because of that single act of understanding. Yes, of course Pete has always appreciated the food, but Petey feels a connection to Mom because of her awareness of Petey. Even now Mom watches and worries about Petey’s body but Mom knows this is Petey’s journey and Mom just knew a guardian angel, a dish of milk and some energy healing were the gifts that Pete would be most grateful for. Petey will always be close by Mom so dont worry Petey and Mom will be connected forever. 

Mom told us after the session Petey looked more alert and drank more milk! Love you Petey!
