Chrissy is a 2 year old Pug/Poodle cross, who also comes from a rescue. I adopted her at 4 months. She is a very smart girl! Following are the issues for Chrissy:
1. Where Rambo is the strong, silent type, Chrissy is somewhat timid and loud. She alert barks at any noise or movement. It’s one thing for her to do it in the house and yard, but she has started lunging and barking at cars when on walks (I keep a good hold of her leash). She is easily distracted and I work with her on this alot. I just wonder if there’s something else that would help her.
2. Collar, harness & leash – Chrissy loves walks (I think) but if she senses that I’m getting ready for an outing, she hides under the bed. She won’t come out if she sees her collar, harness or leash. I’ve tried working with her using positive reinforcement and treats. I wonder if I scared her at some point or if she’s uncomfortable in the collar & harness.
Chrissy said Chrissy was ready for Chrissy to meet you. Chrissy knows that Mom is always finding ways for Rambo and Chrissy to be the happiest and best. Chrissy found the healing energy very calming during Rambo’s time with you. For Chrissy it was wrapping Chrissy in a soft gentle blanket of tenderness. Rambo must be delighting in this sensation now. Most times Chrissy wants to jump out at you or anything and scream/bark inside Chrissy’s head- move away from Chrissy’s Mom. Of course this amazing brave, protective behavior only causes Mom to made a sour unhappy face and words come out of Mom’s mouth too at the same time. Chrissy tries to bark so loud Chrissy cannot hear these words. Somehow Chrissy needs to let Mom be back in charge but how? Candy said to Chrissy you are so smart as your Mom said you were. Well Chrissy your Mom is in charge, Mom is bigger, stronger and Mom is your protector. Mom does know you love her and Chrissy you can show Mom your love without the BIG BARK in charge routine.
We heard back from Mom:
Hi Ming,
Heartfelt thanks to you and Candy!
You do wonderful work and I’m grateful to have connected with you. Rambo and Chrissy are grateful too 🙂
