Cody, the black pug, is about 13 years old as well but he’s about six months younger than Pugsley. I discovered Cody was deaf a couple of years ago so I don’t know if that developed over time or if he was always like that and I wasn’t aware. He’s had a couple of corneal abrasions (scrapes on his eyes) that were treated which occur because of the buggy eyes in pugs. Probably about four years ago, I found a lump on Cody’s left front leg which was concerning. It was removed and found to be a stage III mast cell tumor.
Cody frequently urinates in the house and does not let us know when he has to go outside. When we last tested his urine, I was told his urine pH was such that he could develop bladder stones as well so we put him on the same food as Pugsley as a prophylactic measure.
Cody has always had hip dysplasia but it was not surgically repaired because he didn’t dislocate his hips like Pugsley did. X-rays were performed on his hips a few months ago and the vet said Cody has, “The worst arthritis there is.” In addition, he has luxating patellas (knee caps that move in and out of place). Last year, he developed difficulty walking which has gotten worse fairly quickly. If he hasn’t been moving around a lot then obviously, it’s much more difficult for him to move. I also have issues with Cody being aggressive when we have him out on a leash, as he lunges at people and barks at them. When he’s at home, he’s a snuggle bunny.
During Cody’s session:
Cody said, Cody could sense your arrival because Cody could feel the healing energy from Pugsley. Now Pugsley is sharing Cody’s healing energy. Yes, Cody’s body is not cooperating with Cody at all. Cody can not fix this. Cody does not want to pee- it just comes out of Cody. If Mom is surprised, so is Cody.
As we sent the healing energy we also gave Cody an angel. Cody was so funny, Cody said Cody likes Cody’s angel but could Cody have a magic carpet? Cody would like to be airborne for awhile and have no weight on Cody’s joints..
Thanks so much! I don’t mind at all if you add the boys to your blog. Pugsley is a little perkier but it still coughing some. He developed yellow nasal drainage a couple of days ago so the vet continued the antibiotics for another week. Cody is a happy boy, as always. He was stiff when we went out earlier but we will see how he improves. Neither one have peed in the house today but there was a poop accident, which was Pugsley. Thanks again!
Namaste,
Adrienne
P.S. I got a kick out of what the boys said!
