One of my good friends from high school said good bye to her kitty Gracie last week. I sent her  healing angels and asked that my kitty Mochi meet her on the other side. She wrote me the most touching email. She said I could share it with everyone. To me, I believe Gracie because she was so connected with Mama told her that she’d scratch her as the reminder.. read on……

Thanks again for all your love and support with Gracie. It was so hard to let her go, but it was the right thing to do.

So on my way home that day, while driving I had a thought. “what if Gracie scratches me and I have the scratch to remind me of her when she is gone.” This was a weird thought. Gracie is not aggressive nor does she play hard.

So when we had about a half hour left before we had to take her in, she was outside on the deck furniture just hanging. I sat down next to her and petted her and talked to her. I asked her to let me know when she reached the other side, to tell me that she was OK.

While I am talking and petting her, she scratched me! It tore my skin and drew blood. It really surprised me. Like I said before, she never did that.

We took her in and the experience was both heartbreaking and beautiful. I held her head and looked into her eyes. In less than a minute she was gone. The light in her eyes faded away.

Bill and I took her home. We buried her in the back yard in a place where we can see her from most places in the house and deck.

When we were done, Bill made me a drink and we sat on the deck, cried and talked about our favorite memories of Gracie. I looked at my hand and the scratch was completely gone. No sign that I was ever scratched there, none.

I think this is how she let me know that she is at peace and that she loves us. I cant tell you how it made me feel. Both amazed and so blessed.

We miss her beyond words. But I know she is free from the pain and suffering she was going through.
