This is a love story for sure.  Last year a cocker spaniel puppy named Charlotte walked into Reiki Fur Babies lives.  This summer its a silver toy chihuahua.  I have to admit both Candy and I are not “chihuahua” people but we do love animals.  As Candy held this little 5lb chihuahua in her hands… Cha… Charlie came to her mind. I instantly thought how interesting that Cha-rlotte was last year.. just one of those funny things.

Charlie was stuck in the bougainvillea.  He didn’t look good. He was dirty, looked like he had been traveling a bit. Candy immediately looked all around the neighborhood if someone had lost their dog. No one claimed a missing dog. Signs went up all over.  She took him to the Vet. The Vet said he was not being cared for, not neutered, still had baby teeth and was about almost a year old. Vet said also a rare – “silver” toy chihuahua. Reiki Fur Babies picked up the tab for the medicines but the Vet gave of her services and did not charge us. Charlie also got a free bath at Marina Pet Spa as well. Everyone had been so wonderful to this little guy.  That evening we gave him a Reiki session and he said he had been on a long adventure. He said he was ‘wrapping himself” all around the name Charlie. That was all he said. He loved the Reiki and would often run up to the Reiki room probably hoping to get more!

Charlie was so calm, quiet. He never barked! I didn’t even know he had a voice until he was trying to protect Candy! He would sit on her lap for an hour while we were at the salon never barking, never leaving her side. Charlie was amazing.  We told him we were going to find a suitable home.

Sorry to say we turned down many homes that just wanted Charlie for their children to play with. But Charlie is a dog, and not just  a dog but one that so many had grown to love. All of our fans on our FB page rallied around Charlie as if he were all of ours. We all felt the love for Charlie.

Then one morning I got a text message, I just saw Charlie….  and then so it went… Charlie’s new home with two very loving people.  Charlie’s life will begin and his journey will be wonderful. We’re happy that we could give him the love to start his adventure.
