Before the new year was up we received this email:

Hello!  I have been following you on Facebook and your website/blog for several months.  I am so thankful that my precious fur baby, Rudy does not have any illnesses that I know of.  Would it be possible for him to receive Reiki simply for his well-being and comfort?  I would also love to “hear” what he is thinking/feeling.  I have received Reiki in the past and I love it.  I am not too familiar with distance Reiki, but am very open to trying it both for me and Rudy

You know I was excited! I wrote her all about how Reiki is great just for wellness. It helps us tap into our wellness center. Reiki is about bringing balance to ourselves. We have on another occasion giving healthy kitties a Reiki session.  Think of it as you going to your yearly check ups. We also had a Reiki session for a lady at the end of the year with no physical ailments. She too had a wonderful experience. We told this Mama that distance healing was very powerful.  We were sure her dog would enjoy it.

I was excited to give this dog Reiki. (not to mention he is a yellow labrador!) All Mama really wanted to know was if Rudy would be happy getting a second pet in the house. She said he was their fur baby, their one and only so wanted to see. So we thought okay, we’ll see if Rudy has a comment about it.

As we connected with Rudy, I saw this dog bobbing up and down and up and down. Wow, he was excited. I thought how is he going to calm down for the Reiki I smiled to myself.  My ears heard a fiere writing behind me (this was Candy, I thought wow, he is talking alot!!)  As I went through Rudy’s entire body the only thing I could pick was a sore muscle or two… healthy dog.I also had several healing horses with me as well.

When our session was finished, Candy and I compared notes. Candy was laughing.  When she read to me what Rudy said it matched his bobbing up and down. He was hysterical . Candy said he wouldn’t stop talking, he kept going.. he was so excited. He was so happy about getting a new dog. He was saying, my parents are so great.  This is better than a new ball or toy!! (and so on he went. He did finally rest for his Reiki as well)

We heard back from his Mama.

I wanted to tell you how Rudy behaved during the reiki!  He was curled up in a ball all by himself in the family room…which is rare for Rudy, he usually has to be wherever we are.  But right afterwards he came running upstairs looking for me and my husband with this excited, questioning look in his eyes.  Right now he is looking out the window.  I need to explain to him that his new brother/sister is not going to come immediately…but maybe this weekend! (and he did have a sore muscle or two, he had run right into the wall he was playing so hard!)

He was a joy to Reiki. I thought about it later and told Candy, he had so much to say because he had no illness. The Reiki was able to go and balance him and give him some comfort to his muscles. What an awesome dog.
