Over the past few weeks we have been giving mental healings to a 15 year old girl. There are many things going on within her and we have been giving her Reiki several times a week. We teamed up with intuitive healer Bridget Pilloud on this case. She had a session with this teen and told us that she needed horse energy. Horse energy? Well, we have had many sessions with horses in the past and they certainly have a lot of wise things to say but horse energy. Wow. We talked about this:
Horse is a dignity that is impossible to diminish. Even pulling a plow or bearing the meanest burden, Horse maintains a noble bearing. Horse has shouldered his burdens without surrendering his essential nature. Even after his thousands of years of servitude when let loose to run wild Horse becomes in a very short time the untamed spirit he was destined to be. Perhaps this is Horse’s greatest medicine, the knowledge that no matter what we have borne in the past, there always exists in us the waiting seed of our true selves. Horse shows us how to carry our burdens with ease and with dignity, but more importantly, he shows us that we are always and forever free.
I told Bridget, I am willing to try. We needed a horse to come in and help us give horse energy to this girl. Bridget found us Parker. She sent us a picture and said he looked like that. During our session Candy and I both called in Parker. I felt something I had not felt before. My hands got hotter than normal and I saw 3 flashes of red light. I immediately felt that this was Parker giving us help in sending Reiki to this girl. It was amazing. Another week went by and this time I saw Parker’s face. He was a beautiful white horse. I saw his nostrils. They were flaring. He was definitely doing something. It was really cool. I was told that the horse’s nostrils flare when they are taking in our energy and looking to see who we are then giving energy back. Parker was definitely doing something. Then again another session, again, a beautiful white horse shows up and at first I saw his hip or the backside of him, I was kept wondering why I was seeing that only to “back up” a bit I realized his face was totally in my face and I had looked past him! Again I saw some flaring nostrils.
Anyone want to comment on the healing of horses and flaring nostrils I’d love to hear it.
We ask Parker to join in the Reiki sessions and I have seen him one other time other than with the girl and it was with a man that was sick and was going to cross over the next day, Parker showed up with Sophie to lend a healing “hand”.
Well for Candy and I this is a wonderful new learning experience with Parker that I’m sure is going to keep on growing and evolving. I’m totally excited and open to it!

Among us horse people, sharing your horse’s breath is a very special moment. While we do not have the same sensitivity to smell that they do, their sweet breath is reassuring and calming. For a moment, it is just the two of you, exchanging a connection that needs no words. A horse that allows you to do this is also displaying a very high level of trust as they are by nature prey animals and to trust something else enough to stand for a while quietly and exchange breaths is saying a lot.

Great blog!
We had horses growing up on the small farm I grew up on. They are some of the most loyal, protective, generous, kind-hearted beings in the world. Our family was really dysfunctional and at times really frightening things occurred (especially having to witness/deal with them as a child). Our barn was a safe-haven and I’d take a book, go out there and hang out with our horses, the goat and various cats. One of the things I’d do is put my forehead on my pony or horse’s nose and just be, or lay on their back and read a book. That smell of timothy hay and sweet feed was so soothing and protective. I am so thankful that I grew up where I did.
