Here’s some good news. Good news to those clients of ours that keep coming back for Reiki sessions. I don’t think I have been clear enough. Perhaps I haven’t even mentioned in the What is Reiki posts. I’m not sure. But I’m going to repeat it here several times so by the time you are done reading this you will know and remember that Reiki is cumulative!
Reiki’s effects are cumulative. It often takes multiple sessions and the body processes between sessions to process the healing at each level. Sometimes if the pet or person is sicker, we will do sessions in succession.
The number of sessions necessary is often related to the length of time you have had the condition brought you to Reiki in the first place. A condition that you’ve had for a year or more could take three to six months of weekly or bi-weekly Reiki sessions. Sometimes a condition that has been with you for a month or two could take two, three or four sessions. Each individual is unique and must be treated accordingly.
Sometimes you’ll see results right away. I know when we Reiki people we really hope to see results right away but there are even more layers to a person. I asked my brother today, if a person who got two Reiki sessions and felt some improvement but the third was not as profound what his thoughts were. He told me a story in which a Reiki master said its good if you don’t feel anything. By that statement, I take it that each person is different. During this 3rd session Candy and I felt like we REALLY got in there, did some deep work.
So therefore, It is not necessary for you to feel the energy for it to work. The energy goes to where it is needed and works on whatever energy level that is required. Reiki heals on your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels to bring harmony and balance into your life.
The energy of Reiki is cumulative. It builds up in your system with each treatment received, empowering both mind and body.
The effects of Reiki are cumulative, with each successive session building on the effects from the last.
Since most illness does not happen overnight, the body cannot be realigned overnight either. Reiki is cumulative so that the more Reiki you receive the better you feel, the more balanced your body becomes and the healthier you remain.
So our dear pets that have had 3 sessions, the Reiki is cumulative. The pets that have received even more than 5 sessions, the Reiki is cumulative, bringing the body in to balance. You may not see what you want to see but the Reiki is flowing. Sometimes you’ll just notice subtle changes. But the Reiki does not go away.
Nor do Candy and I put a “cap” on the Reiki. When we do distant healing, one can if for example, Candy is traveling and I want to send her healing for those days, I can “cap” it. We don’t cap any of our sessions.
I hope this has helped. The more Reiki we get the more balance we get.

Sharp blog. Do you ever trade featured posts? I am maintaining a page on my current hobby akita dogs and wanting to trade some content with good pages. I checked out your blog and you’ve put up some great articles and I think our readers would both benefit. Thanks!
