If you are on Twitter following us @reikifurbabies or following us on Facebook www.facebook.com/reikifurbabies then you will often see me say Warrior Reiki! Well I thought I’d tell you the origin of where we got this word.

We were working on a very sick horse with Cushing’s disease.  This horse participated in Reiki Talk.  So this horse was able to tell Janet her experience about her Reiki session. Here’s what she said :

B: Yes indeed. Now I will tell you what it was like to receive the Reiki treatment. Even though it was very peaceful and warm and fluid for me, I could tell that the Reiki energy was hosting a war with that terrible varmit that has invaded my body. Yes, while Mom gives me Reiki and IT IS GOOD, the women who gave me this treatment are WARRIORS. The energy heated up and it was like little arrows attacking that varmit! Do not worry, Mom, they did not hurt me and I wasn’t afraid of them. I knew they were in my best interest and taking care of me.

JR: How do the treatments affect you?

B: The Warrior Women do a different Reiki than Mom. Please tell Mom not to feel bad about this. Mom is too attached to give me the warrior medicine I need to get better. Mom gives me the LOVE I need to get better (Note: She has a very satisfied, smug look on her face as she says this)

At first the warrior treatment left me feeling a little stunned, but then I could FEEL those varmits taking off. Now that is good. Now, I am better and better and better.

JR: What do you think about future treatments?

B:  Yes, future warrior treatments are in store for me.  I like that very much.  While the future warrior treatments will be VERY effective and very good for me, Mom will not see quite the dramatic results she has seen with this one.  Tell her not to worry about that, they will be JUST as dramatic on the inside, less dramatic on the outside.  Mom needs to back off from all of the treatments she gives me when I have a warrior treatment.  Then 24-48 hours after the warrior treatment, she can resume my regular treatment.  It will be a give and take between treatments, this is what will help me.

This was absolutely amazing and humbling to both Candy and I but it helped us realize that when we are dealing with disease in the pets we Reiki, it is a war and sure enough who wouldn’t want warriors battling it! Since this horse said it, during another Reiki session with a deaf dog, Candy heard him say the “warriors are back!” So we didn’t  make up this word. I had never even thought of the word. Who said it? The animals did!!
