Let’s be careful. It’s Halloween. The danger lies ahead for all of our fur babies. Unfortunately this is the time of the year when our pets can really get hurt. There are some sick individuals who grab cats and cause harm to them during this holiday. Scary movies, crazy kids etc. It’s all a bad mix for the innocent animals out there.
Then we have all those treats that can get them sick or kill them. They see, smell, and want to taste everything that your little ones bring into the house. Yummy, their tummys are singing.
We all know if there is a will there is a way for them to find the treats that they are sure are meant for them. I know Star and Kc would have them unwrapped, (or not) and eaten. Never understanding why I’m having a mini melt down over another one of their fun ideas as we are driving to the Vet to have their stomachs pumped.
Now the door bell is ringing and of course my two handsome fur babies are going to protect our home, so the barking begins. Then I open the door, and they pee on the floor, bark louder, want to attack the monsters, that are trying to grab their Mom. Each group that comes to the door creates another event in my pets lives. I try to imagine from their prospective what these Halloween costumes (come to life) look like to them. Frightening!!
New Halloween rules for my fur babies. Dad and them go upstairs get into bed, and watch a good movie together. Lassie Come Home, Charlie Brown, and if they are still awake later, we know they love Animal Planet. That should cut down on their stress levels over the monsters coming to the door. No candy will be allowed in Rayne’s room when she comes home from her Halloween adventure. I think the last part is all of us being vigilant over all the unprotected fur babies out there. I am going to make sure all the teenagers that hang out here have their eyes, and ears open to “any” animal abuse; whether it is Halloween or not.
I do want to finish my blog on a lighter note, so I’m adding some snapshots of Kc and Star in their Halloween costumes because they love to play dress up. They love a camera, and are always willing to change outfits to look their furry best..
Happy Halloween from Candy & Ming
