Today is Mochi’s birthday! She is 15. WOW. I’ve known her since she was 8 weeks old I do believe. Does she have stories she could tell you about my life. Don’t ask her! She’s my “no drama”, loving but very VOCAL kitty. Does anyone else with a mainecoon have one that talks all the time? She always has something to say. (That’s Mochi sitting in front of me while I type)
But this morning, she knew we were celebrating her birthday. Her Auntie Candy gave her a couple catnip toys and lots of kisses. From Mama she wanted a Reiki session. Well, wonderful! It had been awhile since she had a direct Reiki session and by that I mean just her own. She gets all the energy from all the Reiki sessions we do with the other animals. I only found that out recently because she also participated in Reiki Talk and told Janet Roper that. I was thrilled to hear that she could utilize the Reiki this way for her benefit. She said her body has healing energy surrounding her all the time. But this morning she sat with me for quite a long time. It was nice to see Sammy Diva and Lucy come lay down this time while Mochi received her Reiki session.
Mochi is a wonderful, loving cat. She never gets sick, never gives me grief and has been an awesome companion and friend. One of her most loving qualities is that she accepted two dogs into her life at an older age. She is so tolerant of them both. She loves them like sisters. She lets Sammy and Lucy give her licks and kisess. I never imagined a cat could be so tolerant of dogs until I witnessed it myself.
I love Mochi just for that alone. I love Mochi for all her kisses, for licking my tears when I had been sad, for sharing a bed with Lucy, for just being the cat that she is.
Happy Birthday Mochi! We love you!
