Once a year we take the kid and the fur babies on a vacation.  It’s really fun and the dogs just love it.  As I was packing their food, I got a little scowl from Lucy. I looked at her and said, YOU are going with us this time! Right away she perked right up.  Why are they so happy? They get to be with Mama and Daddy 24/7.  We don’t leave them and they just get to play, sleep, eat and roam free.  This year we decided to take them on a house boat trip.  We took Sammy a few years ago and she was literally SMILING.

It was a good break for us as well. We went totally UNPLUGGED and by that I mean, no Facebook, no Twitter, no emails, no phone. It was a rather odd sensation actually. We weren’t far from home but were completely cut off. SO I brought my book and my laptop and thought I could at least write a blog!

Lucy was so excited, ripping and roaring up and down the boat with an actual SKIP in her step. We could tell she was extremely happy. She learned a new word, “cow”.. she just stared at them… and they stared back.

Now where does Reiki fit into all of this? First of all they got Reiki whenever they wanted, it was easy.  The first night Sammy actually had an anxiety attack. She usually slept near us on the bed on the boat but I thought she’d be okay on her bed near me. She woke me up around 3am paniced. She was pawing and pawing breathing heavily. I tried to calm her down, finally she would only sleep after I had my hand on her. The next night she had her own bed and was much happier. The sensation below their feet on a boat must feel like an earthquake.  If the boat rattled too much both of them would run to Mama.  The next amazing thing is that you know I write about giving Reiki healing to Sammy’s hips all the time. Now get this, Sammy is now 9. When she was 7 she could not jump off the boat. Its about 3 feet off the ground. Sammy would jump onto the small dock and Daddy would lift her down to the ground.  THIS TIME, Sammy JUMPED off the boat! It actually scared me! I thought she had fallen off! But my hubby yelled, “REIKI DOG!” He’s right.  The Reiki has helped her THAT much.  We were both amazed. I thought it was a fluke but then she kept jumping off the boat!

She jumped OFF the boat and RAN into the water like a yellow labrador would.
