Giving Reiki to Cats: I love cats. Cats were my childhood pet. I had in my childhood 5 cats at different times which includes a orange neighbor cat that would come over and visit every day. I must have fed it. Haha. When I moved to California after grad school, I was finally able to get a cat. Cats are so smart. Cats are so funny. Cats are independent yet so loving at the same time. If you’re not a cat person, it will be hard to understand.
Since learning Reiki I have to come to realize I believe one of my spirit guides is a cat. Just has to be. My cat Mochi is one of the most loving cats I have ever known. She accepted my yellow lab and was not jealous at all. She and my pembroke corgi share the same sleeping place. It is so cute to see them look at each other eye to eye as they are the same height.
This week we gave Reiki to a lot of cats. As you know, Sophie was a client of ours that I became very attached to. Well, you know, I get very attached to all the pets we Reiki. Sophie in turn is helping us now with our toughest cases. (you can read about Sophie here. What touched me the most is that one of our clients had us Reiki both her cats. That’s always an ideal situation because its like bringing balance to the whole family. We realize finanically its hard to Reiki the whole family of pets but when people are able to its really wonderful. But on a positive note, the animals do know and get some of that healing energy too. Even the owner will feel it. We once sent Reiki to a kitten with a tweaked shoulder. The Mama was holding the cat at the time and felt the energy as well!
The two cats that received Reiki this week are with their Mama who has been going through all kinds of stresses. The stresses of life we all go through. Our pets take on the stress too. They worry, they fuss and try to understand and help how they can. This one kitty who was more vocal than the other was bringing home little “catches”. He really wanted Mama to know he was doing what he could to show her he was trying to help. If you think about it, how touching is that?! Mama wanted him to stop and as we were giving him a mental healing he was saying he didn’t want to as it was part of who he is and it showed his Mama he cares. Candy was so touched by him that she wanted to give him another healing session later. Both kitties were so concerned for their Mama.
Who says cats are so independent they don’t care. They do. They care deeply.

Mama of the two cats said this after reading the post. She did feel the healing while the Reiki was flowing! She said she was prompted to internally sing two sanskrit verses i learned in yoga (which rarely spontaneously occurs to me to do so). and right when zeke was waking up and grooming himself, i also couldn’t stop yawning, got up, stretched, and this message flashed to me, “money is always there when you need it. it always has been, it always will be. there’s no need to stress.” now THAT was a nice message to receive 🙂
