We just finished sending reiki to a blind poodle. We could feel the anxiousness the dog feels since its other sensory perceptions are so heightened. Imagine the smells and what he can hear from so far away.  However all in all, this poodle was very happy and in a very loving home. There was no pain, no illnesses to speak of. Both Candy and I were happy and honored to send this poodle some calming and soothing energy.  An energy coming in which he couldn’t see but he sure could feel. He didn’t resist, wasn’t afraid. Rather he welcomed it.  We always tell the pet that their loving owners are the ones to thank for this energy. Afterall, their mama’s and daddy’s are the ones that ask for the reiki for their pets. That is the BALANCE that reiki brings.

Sometimes a pet will come back to us while we are doing something else and say hey, would like some more of that energy. But these pets are not ours and all we can do is tell the owners and its up to the owners. More often than not, its a horse. I have been finding as more horses are given reiki that they are such special animals. Their feelings seem more complex to me.  But then again in talking with some people that know much more about horses than I, these complexities can be due to their upbringing. One horse that we had the honor to reiki had been very aggressive.  When we sent the reiki, the horse was very angry, like a small boy stomping on the ground. But soon he was calm and took in the energy.  After the reiki the horse was able to express that he had witnessed his mama being abused.  And some people have no idea that horses and all animals do have feelings- souls. From what I hear, this horse is heading in the right direction. How awesome is that. That is the healing the reiki brings.
