Recently we had the honor and privilege of giving reiki to all the cats and dogs in the family. Usually we are asked to reiki the sicker one in the family. But this wonderful man who rescued all his animals asked us to reiki all 4 !
How excited I was.
He had 2 cats and 2 dogs. The sickest cat (8) has cancer and we are now giving her weekly reiki until she goes into the light. There is a tumor in his mouth/throat area. The other black cat was found under his house who is now 11. The dog- a blond mix was stabbed in the throat and thrown from a moving car and left for dead at 7 weeks. (I’d like to do this to the person who did this, I know, I know. It’s just how I feel) But this dog is now 9. The other dog was abandoned and has separation issues and also had a tumor on his toe. The owner stated he had been to the Vet too many times and while he was having the tumor removed he also had tore both knee ligaments. The owner had to carry him in and out of the house holding his back end up with a padded knee strap so he could pee and poop. The dog had been with both the Oncologist and Orthopedic surgeon.
Wow, where were we to begin? I was excited at being able to do the entire family. As we started the reiki it was so interesting to see how they fit within the family. Its kind of like who’s the oldest, who’s the middle child, who’s the baby. The abandoned dog was the “observer” of the siblings. She was also a bit skiddish with the reiki at first but then let us in . The cat with cancer was a chatterbox during the reiki. She loved the reiki and she is the one that gets reiki every week! The other cat was the leader over them all and watched everyone as well. He was rather removed from all of them. The other dog with the tumor and that had been through so much as so calm through the reiki.
Receiving feedback from the owner, we were told we were right about each one’s role in the household, or clan as he called it. He told us the cat with the cancer was curled up with him all night. The abandoned dog was happier than he’s ever seen in awhile and the cat that was always watching CAME in the house was very affectionate. How wonderful to restore a sense of balance to all the furbabies in the house. Besides my own house, we don’t get to see that too often. It was really very wonderful. Balance was restored to the entire household!
