Another pair of glasses of mine has been mutilated by Star. Does that make 6 or 7 pair? What does she have in her mouth now? OMG is she peeing on the bed? Where are my slippers? Okay, I give; it is time to call Danielle. She is the lady that trained our last two boxers and seems to get them to do things we are not capable of.
The day Danielle shows for Star’s first appointment Kc gets nausea. He has always been so sensitive to everything. When Danielle was training him she put a mat on the street because he was too delicate to sit on the concrete. He hasn’t changed much.
Gordon, and I put Kc on a leash and sat in the back of our SVU with him. Star was having her first lesson. She is such a joyful boxer. Always willing to please, and has boundless energy.
The lesson goes on, and on. Sit, heel, stay. Come come, come. Over and over again. Star is keeping up, but doesn’t always understand the command. Repetition is the key to any success in dog training. Danielle has an even disposition that makes working with the dogs easy. All my dogs respond very positively to her and her training methods.
Homework is repeating the lesson that Danielle has taught that day. So everyday I work with Star for 15 – 20 minutes on her lesson. Seems easy, right? Not so easy because Kc cannot stand for me to be train Star without his participation. This is crazy! I try leaving him in the house, and take Star out front for her training. I can see him jumping on the couch looking through the windows and barking. Next I put him in the yard thinking he won’t be able to see or hear us. Wrong… I’m working with Star, and I hear Kc howling to the top of his lungs. Lesson ends now. I continue with Star ‘s homework assignment in the house. Kc is so happy because he can follow along. Shadow lessons for Kc. He was never this interested in dog training before, but he doesn’t want to be left out now.
I Love these two wonderful boxer fur babies. If you want Danielle to train your dog you can reach her at 310-403-7685 daniellehaffner@ymail.com
