My fur babies just got back from another week in paradise. Paradise for Pets Boarding Services.
(661-575-9575) Tom Lang and his wonderful wife Alicia have a great place for my pets to stay while we are out of town. They are in Palmdale and depending on where you are they will come and pick up your pet for a reasonable charge.
It’s so funny how each of our dogs have had different needs to where they wanted to stay while we are away. Our first boxer Ale stayed at the ,Pasadena Humane Society where they were boarding dogs. He just loved the staff, the noise of all the barking, etc. He passed away at the age of 12. Shane was our next boxer. We took him there on our first out of town trip after his arrival. A huge disaster for him. He hated everything Ale loved about the place. Shane came home and threw up for a few days. Then my search began to find a new solution for pet care. Now note- this is 16-17 years ago before pet care was a huge business. I kept calling this guy in Pasadena, where we were living, and finally connected. The name of his business then was Paradise for Pets Sitting Service. Sitting, boarding, they were all the same to me. I introduced him and Shane, and told him I would be gone for x amount of days. When we came back home, and Shane came back home, Tom knew my puppy inside, and out. He even told me what a bed hog he was, etc. We knew we had found the perfect match for Shane. Every time Tom came to pick him up Shane would start that boxer twirling thing. He would fly into Tom’s arms, and never look back to say bye to his devoted Mom. Tom charmed and charms every pet he comes into contact with. They become mesmerized with him, and his kind and loving ways. Animals know who understand them, and Tom really does.Shane died, at 5 of a heart attack, going for a ride with Tom. It was terrible for Tom, because we were not reachable, and they were very close. We cried, but did get some peace knowing Shane was where he wanted to be for his last moments.
Now we are move to Venice, and another boxer has joined our family- Ry (Ry’s Story ) Living at the other end of the world with everything new,and different we start searching for pet sitting. Got lucky again with the The Kennel Club LAX . This was made for my big boy boxer. He was a performer there. He was such a ham with everybody. He had so much energy he would crash into the wall when he was playing. The staff fell hard for the big boy, and him for them. When I would go to pick him up he would come out one the swinging doors, and try to return immediately through the other door. Driving to the LA Kennel Club, Ry would get so excited as we got closer. This was his magic castle for sure.
Knowing Ry has cancer we decide to get another boxer, Kc. (My $60,000 Boxer Baby) We drive over to the kennel club for their play dates. Ry even on his worse day is a happy dog there. Kc comes out miserable.
He doesn’t play well with others, and for sure does not warm up to the staff. We keep trying, even after Ry has passed. This is not the place for my young shy baby boxer boy. He was too sick for too long, and needs a little more attention. Of course Tom comes to mind. He has also moved from Pasadena. He still has Paradise Pet Boarding Services in Palmdale, CA.
I call him to please pick up Kc, so we can go away for a visit back east to visit our new Granddaughter Ariana. Our reluctant baby black boxer gets in the car , and does look back to cry bye Mommy. We come home, Kc returns with mixed reviews. The most positive story I hear of his stay was the way Kc connected with Tom’s sister-in-law,Stella. I believe she is in her 60’s, and has some challenges. Kc found his pal on the ranch. I think he also liked the goats, horses, llamas, and other animals that were living, and boarding with Tom. He is still was shy with Tom, and Alicia, but would jump into bed each night with his new best friend Stella.
Now that I have Star (With age, comes wisdom) to keep Kc company, she brings him out of his shell. She was the perfect boxer rescue for this family. What a sweetheart she is to all of us. Kc has come out of his shell and no longer hides under the table when company comes. Now the two of them go to Paradise together to play with all the wonderful animals Tom has there.
They get to run, till they can’t anymore. I just smile when they come home. Star has a pink collar when she leaves comes back with it a lovely shade of brown. Happiness for my two fur babies is being at Paradise for Pets, when Mom is away. Isn’t it wonderful we have great, loving pet sitters to help out when needed. I have felt blessed each time my pet is loved and cared for by another.
