My dogs, Kc and Star have a favorite “Little Red Dog Bed.” It’s really too small for either of them, but they love it. Many times I will find them crushed together taking a power nap in it. We acquired the “Little Red Bed” when Lucy, the corgi joined our family. Now you can know the size of this sweet small bed. Even after several years, and Lucy moving down the street, the bed stayed. Every week it was taken apart and the outer cover washed, dried and replaced, so the two boxers could again jump into their magic napping bed.
We come home after having early Dr. appointments yesterday to find the two dogs shredded their beloved “ Little Red Bed.” Why, would these dogs turn on their bed? Boredom? Frustration? These are the moments you wish you had that instant video camera sat up to record how it all came about, from their perspective. Did they hear voices coming from their beloved bed? Was it a dare? Star daring her big brother to throw the bed; one thing leaves to another. We all know how that goes.
Now you all must be thinking can’t a Reiki Mom have more control over her pets? From my emails, some of you are Veterinarians and your pets still get sick, die, etc. Dentists don’t have teeth without getting cavities, nor do their off -spring. See where this is going, we all try to control what we can. There’s just so much we can’t. Acceptance!
The bed has been trashed without a word to my fur babies. They talk about it when they are ready, or not. Yes, I will be on the look out for a new small dog bed. They may not get it until Christmas, but I love seeing them all curled up n that “Little Red Bed.”
