Sammy and her carrots. Well as you know, we’re always battling weight. Hard for a lab. Poor Sammy is always hungry. We got her to lose several pounds
With no people food and more walks and a little bit less kibble. Poor thing hardly gets anything. When the Vet scolded me yet again, for too much weight on the dog, in tears, feeling totally responsible for doing this to the dog I love. My husband and I took the people food away cold turkey.
Sammy not realizing why, was unhappy. Upon returning from work, she had bitten her leg and chewed all the way down to the skin. I realized this to be anxiety for when she was first living with me, she ate part of my wall, but that’s another story. I sat and talked to Sammy (you talk to your pets too right?) and then I realized that she had the ritual of licking our plates after dinner and was a part of the family. I had taken that away. In discussing it with Mark, we returned the plates to her after dinner just without any food, but ah, it worked, and Sammy was part of the family again. Her leg has now healed completely and with some reiki, you would never even know she had chewed her leg. SO, Sammy and her carrots. Yes, she gets carrots, loves them and doesn’t put the extra pounds on .

Going cold turkey on anything is not a good idea for people or animals. Sammy probably was getting headaches just like I do when I don’t get my coffee in the morning. Now if I could only trick myself to drink a cup of air every morning instead of drinking a real cup of coffee…

Sammy is doing so much better after the Reiki, huh?
:]
she looks a lot better.
I love you.
And yes, it is hard to just do something cold turkey.
