We met this dog last year. When we got the request, I had never even heard of such a dog! A brussels griffon. Wow. Sadly though, his Mama told us that back in July of last year he was diagnosed with an advanced case of Chronic Valvular Disease, Myocardial Failure and Congestive Heart Failure. He’s been on all kinds of medications. His Mama has given so much love and rescued him. The Cardiologist thinks he’s about 11 or 12, so he’s quite elderly though you could never tell that in the pictures.

He again, is another pet, that the Mama is going to “do right by him”. This has been such a common theme as of lately, even having to live it for my own kitty end of 2009. Talk about practicing what  I preach. So I do know what it feels like. We have given him several Reiki sessions and he does get benefits! One time he ran up the stairs when he had to be held before the Reiki. He has his good days and his bad days.

Last month, his Mama wanted to know what his wishes were. We told her we would Reiki him and give him a full physical healing especially to his heart and see if anything came out of it.  It did,

He said I may be small, but I’m not a baby. He said he appreciated his Mom’s understanding for a QUALITY of life. He said I love my Mom and tell her not to doubt what she feels. Mom knows and is very spiritual. He said he’ll eat when he can and drink when he can.

That is the key. A quality of life not quantity. Who wants their pet to suffer? None of us do. Though so hard to let go. But when we do right by them, we too, get the blessing. And do our pets love and appreciate us for that.

But in the mean time, we will love and Reiki this intuitive dog who is very connected to his Mama as long as we can.
